After entertaining the thought for quite some time (the last half of the third Harry Potter movie) I have decided that someday I will marry Hermione Granger. There's something about the Potter stories that is magical (perhaps 'cause they involve a great deal of magic). Sometimes it leads me to a let down because I cannot levitate something by pointing a stick at it while making a strange vocalization, or summon a blinding-white deer-ray to scare off scary things that are trying to take my soul. However, by keeping in mind that movies and other story sources are never true reflections of the way life is, I've found hope and an even greater appreciation for life through them.
Sure, maybe magic doesn't exist the way it does to the characters in Harry Potter, but I think it can be found all up in this biznatch (the world). Just thinking about all the things that have to come together to make matabolism work, a limb move, and a hummingbird hover brings me to that intoxicating point where my eyes go wide open, my mouth hangs slack, and I let out a stoned man's "Whoah...". Maybe I can't grab a Nimbus 2000 and take off, but I can hop on a Magna Excitor, peddle very quickly, and feel the thrill of flight without the possibility of falling off and breaking something (yeah, guess it's still there, but oh well). Plus I don't have to put up with that whole not being able to breath/see thing that comes with super-high speed air travel. Oh yeah, and I don't have to deal with jackasses like Draco while I'm trying to grab little levitating golden balls with wings (he needs to be punished... possibly with a broom).
At any rate, bicycles are cool and I will keep riding them up until the day I find Hermione (hopefully she'll be like 20 by then). Then, I'll craft a sidecar using some of my magical abilities (plasma torch) and ride off into the sunset to my own castle (or hers, whichever's cooler). Point is, magic is real, and Hermione is mine (if I can find her... that be).
