I found the most wonderful girl singer songwriter in the process of putting together these mixtapes. She's called A Girl Named Sue, and she writes hilarious lyrics to really soft folky melodies. It reminds me of something I imagine jax would listen to. I put the lyrics on here just because I thought maybe y'all would like a
Homicidal Love Song:
I can't stop the sun from shining on my boots just because my feet are hot
I can't stop the wind from blowing just because it makes riding my bike so hard
I can't stop these looks that I give to you just because she's around
But I can stop your girlfriend from living, and I will if i have to
Don't think that I'll think twice about wringing her scrawny neck
And if her head should meet the sidewalk, it won't be no accident
She won't try to keep us apart if she's even a little wise
Because I'm afraid your girlfriend may meet with an unfortunate demise
This is a homicidal love song and I'm one crazy bitch
I don't really want to see your sweetie pie face-down in the ditch
True love is a rare and precious thing she shouldn't be messing with
And it's all that much more special when you kill to get it
Work All Day:
I sit in this apartment. It's empty and it's bleak
Although we live together, haven't seen you in a week
I'm running out of patience, I'm running out of luck
Because we're not so in love, My Dear, that we don't need to fuck
I work all day, you work all night
I only see you sleeping and, Baby, that ain't right
I work all day, you work all night
We lay here, dead, toghether but at least we never fight
I get things done on Monday, on Tuesday I relax
By Wednesday, Thursday, Friday I just want to have you back
I guess I have a vibrator, it's running out of steam
And the neighbors must be wondering why they're only hearing me
I work all day, you work all night
I only see you sleeping and you had such pretty eyes
I work all day, you work all night
We lay here, dead, together but at least we never fight
They're the most woderful songs I've heard since...thursday.
I have so much to do, and I forgot what all of it was.
