Worn down, once-black converse scuff along the dirty street. The alabaster pale, thin girl with wide, lost eyes, hangs her head and shuffles glumly along the empty road under the overwhelming, claustrophobic heat. The chalky, near translucent skin is stretched tight over her neck and shoulders, making her look as if she is trying to grow out of her own flesh. The thin line of kohl surrounding each dark brown eye only highlights their colour and each fleck of gold, or black running through them shines out. Her ears are occupied listening to music, a slow haunting melody, just one man and a guitar and as the slow, single notes float out, she closes her eyes, continues walking, and allows herself to be absorbed in melody.
