So, D.C. was phenomenal!
Awesome things that happened/I did:
-Got Lost, by myself in a foreign city and found my own way back
-Went to the Holocaust Museum, and got to see what I read about
-Bought a Mezuzah, thought it was one for a house.. it's actually for a car and has a traveler's prayer which is even better!
-Saw Everything Is Illuminated being publicy promoted/shown (I <3 Hutz.)
- Ate dinner by myself at a dumpling house. Check it out-
http://www.bangkokjoes.com/ - Met people that disproved just about everything I thought of Texas, and now really want to go visit.
- Talked one of the Texans into trying out Generation Kill, (am sending him a copy tomorrow, he reminds me a lot of Ray)
-Took a Twilight tour by Hummer Limo of D.C., and went to see the all the sights.
- Found the best tortellini, ever. (I seriously dreamed of it that night).
- Missed a week of classes, where apparently nothing happened.
-Made some really great friends.
-Learned that I can not only Survive but also have a fantastic and innovative time without a computer for an entire week.
-Got the room I wanted for my CA job next year.
-took the Metro for the first time, by myself, not knowing where I was going. Following very vague and misleading instructions via voicemail.
-Tried out Mongolian BBQ--Awesome.
-Have only 18 days of classes/finals left.
-Was way over my head, yet survived
Not so great things:
-Went to my first night club... paid 20 bucks for two black X's and too be hit on a very drunk girl...although the MIA remix of Paper Planes was fantastic
-Learned a bit more about my fellow delegates than I really needed to know.
-The Goat moved back into the dorm..and used my things and ate my food. (I know I should have expected it)
-Didn't get the school work i planned on doing done.
-Wasn't nearly prepared, for my role at the conference.
But overall, It was one of the best experiences I've had the in the past two years of University. I did'nt do exactly what I planned, but I'm completely satisfied and happy with how things went and the events that occurred. I'm fairly sure that I met some people that are already becoming good friends, and look like they're going to be around for a while.
