First of all, according to Women Health Journal, I eat perfectly healthy foods for being a female. Infact, I eat all the "must eat foods" for women, accept for eggs, on a regular basis. That being said, I can trasition into what I really want to talk about. Live journal is now going to become my Food Journal, and "getting in shape" progression diary.
Just a little history.
Before this last August, I was living with my boyfriend, who had horrible eating and exercise habits. Me being the "buddy system" kind of gal, I fell into the same habits. Prior to the cohabitation that took place in 2006, my body and I were on friendly terms. About 20 pounds later, and many more issues, I had reached my limit on what was an acceptable change for my body. I gave him about 3 months to try and join me on the path to good health, but his inability to change his habits prompted me to make a change. So, without going into other details, we no longer live together.
It is now October 7th and I have lost more than 10 pounds in diet and excersize. Not only do I feel better, and look better, but in about a month, I will no longer have to watch what I eat so closely!
So, how did I lose the first 10 pounds without torturing myself? Well, I cut out the obvious, red meat (he was the one that got me to start eating the stuff again), whole fat milks (accept of course foods that you should never do lowfat, like good cheese), most processed foods, sweets, and salty snacks. I massively increased my fresh veggie and fruit intake, cut back on the simple carbs, and changed my snacking habits. Oh, and drank A LOT of water. To me, the "diet" I was on at that moment, was how I used to eat normally. Other than unavoidable naughty food influences, I was on my normal living diet.
By September, I had just started giving myself credit for the weight loss, and I could see the difference in the mirror. I decided to step it up a notch, and start THE SPECIAL K CHALLENGE. Since I was toggling between my mothers house and my BF house, I needed a diet I could take back and forth without breaking it. So this diet seemed ideal. So far, it still is. The diet is not more expensive than a whole foods diet, and I can toss a couple of things in my bag and have food for later.
Just so you know, the Special K Diet, allows you to eat all the veggies and fruits you want, and a "sensible dinner". I also give myself the weekend to go gung hoe and eat what I want. Mostly, the diet is designed to put you in good eating habits and SHRINK YOUR STOMACH. All that worked for me, since I became a binge eater, and could put away too much food in one sitting.
I am still on the Special K diet, but have set my quiting date at the end of October.
If that is enough history for you, good, cause thats all yah get.
Moving on. This morning I had..
2 SK (special k) waffles with whipped butter and syrup
8 oz strawberry orange banana smoothie (frozen fruit, NF vanilla yogurt, orange juice)
1 mug of scottish breakfast tea w/ nonfat milk
BTW
Sandra Lee is making an apple hawaiian pizza. It has an apple butter spread, cheese, red onions, canadian bacon and apples. Sound like my dinner for tomorrow, right? I love that Semi Homeade milf.
