Notes: Just felt like I needed to get her out there again I guess...she's been very quiet lately.
Finally I reach the door to my apartment and I scramble to let myself in as quickly as possible. After opening the door I head straight for the couch and pretty much collapse onto it, my feet aching from being up and about for twelve hours. These shifts are killing me but I guess I’m just going to have to get used to them if I want to become a successful doctor.
After lying there for a few minutes I wrinkle my nose a little as I catch a whiff of something and something not very nice in my apartment. I get up from the couch straight away and automatically head for the fridge, thinking something must have gone off.
Nothing.
That’s when I realize that the smell’s actually coming from me. My mind goes back to the hospital and today’s shift. Of course just when I get some new work clothes a patient decides to throw up on me. Of course it wasn’t the patients fault, it’s not like he did it on purpose but I couldn’t help but resent him for it nonetheless. I had quickly changed my clothes and even had a quick shower at the hospital and had assumed that everything was fine. Now I’m realizing I’ve probably smelt of vomit for the past five hours or so.
Great, how very attractive. Now I come to think of it, a lot of the patients did seem quite uncomfortable when I got too close to them. And some of my colleagues too for that matter. I also wasn’t invited out for the usual drink after work, not that I ever say yes to that anyway.
I head straight for the bathroom. Multiple showers it is then.
