Contests and Workshops at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Bombay

Caferati's editors are helping curate the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival
We have a bunch of contests, writing-related workshops and participatory events for children and adults at Kala Ghoda this year. For more information and information on how to register, please follow the links below.

If you subscribe to the Caferati Contests newsletter, you already know about this, but just in case..
(These contests are open to anyone anywhere. But, for logistical reasons, we can't send prizes outside India. Winners would need to have someone in India who we can send prizes to.)
Our very popular contests for writers are now open to entries.

This contest is, by its nature, open to people in Bombay only. Or to people willing to pay their own way to Bombay if they qualify.

- A workshop in Hindi, an introduction to the art and craft of writing for TV serials. As soon as we have the details, we'll post it to the Kala Ghoda Gazette. You'll find the announcement filed under Workshops & Seminars.
- A Literature Quiz. If this works out, there will be a short preliminary round, open to all, where you will have to answer a questionnaire. The winners of that round will go through to the live quiz. We'll post this to the Gazette too, if it works out, under Contests.
We would be very grateful if you could help us publicise our workshops and contests by sending this out to your personal and writing-related mailing lists. Lit @ KGAF relies almost totally on word-of-mouth publicity to get the word out. For the workshops, since we haven't cracked getting them online so far, our target is people in Bombay. But the writing contests are open to anyone anywhere, with the caveat that logistics prevent us from sending prize money outside India, so we're aiming those at people who have an India connection where money can be sent if they win.
We're very ambitiously scaling up to include children's workshops and workshops in Marathi and Hindi this year, to make the Festival more inclusive, so we'd particularly appreciate your help in those areas. So, aside from colleges and writing groups, if you have contacts in schools and the teacher network, or with parents of young children, or with writers in Marathi and Hindi who can help us reach their audiences, please do help us by sending this to them.
