75 ... Free Willy (dvd) ... this family favorite was good, but too predictable. I did like the theme of whales and their brief notation of their fins bending in captivity for a yet unknown reason. And that no whales were harmed in the making of the film. 6/10
76 ... It's a Wonderful Life (tv broadcast) One of my favorite films... the story is intriguing yet quick moving. Not just a Christmas/Holiday movie. 9/10
77 ... Sin City (dvd) ... ok, this blew my socks off--- I think I saw a preview and remembered I gotta see this. It it a noir film with an exceptionally true-to-its-era style and feel. It's based on a comic book series (of which I haven't seen) but you can feel the detail in this well-made 3-part story. The colors, the camera angles, the dialog, the expressions all make this film what it is... excellent!!! Do I think it's 9 or 10 stars??? It's violence runs thru-out the film, but that's what happens in Sin City... not some watered down b.s. It has earned 10/10
