Why Write About My Porkolt?

I was informed late yesterday morning at work that we're granted two hours leave to vote. My first thought...go home early and make some long simmery stew thing to fill up the house; then Keith will come home and be amazed and astounded. I got home early and crashed behind the PC for a few. I couldn't get up. The cupboard was bare, so I hit the local Polish produce/deli. I started as usual, one big and one small bottle pack of Polish carbonated mineral water. Keith likes his mineral water. Asparagus was a bargain, and the stalks were narrow, so I grabbed a bunch. I needed limes. I'm not sure why, but it was a good excuse to make margaritas that night. Five for a buck, not bad. I looked over the billion varieties of pears. Nah. Hmmm, tomatoes. Well, Keith only wants the "on the vine" variety during these off months. Nah, I have a few at home. I'm defrosting veal stew meat at home, but still not sure what I'm going to do with it. I better pick up some green and red bell peppers anyway, in case things go Hungarian. You know, the corn on the cob looks pathetic, but I really have a taste for it. Keith cuts the kernels off the cob. I'll pick up four ears. Look at this red Swiss chard. This bunch ain't too shabby. It's hard to find a bunch that's not partially wilted. Green onions...why not? These sweet potatoes look like they've been rassled a bit; but I'll get four anyway. There are so many varieties of potatoes. It's intimidating. These Idahos are so ridiculously large, and on sale...sure. Need a gallon of milk. Keith likes his Kefir; haven't bought cherry in awhile. I'm not sure if I have sour cream at home. Hmmm. Might as well. You never know when you'll need a link of Hungarian smoked sausage. Well, we arrived at the meat aisle. The highlight of the trip. Breaking all tradition, I'm going to hold off on chicken breast today. I have some frozen at home. I feel like kind of a hell raiser; blowing off the chicken like that. It's been awhile since we had Italian sausage with pasta; I'll get a pack of mild for Keith, and I like the hot. I hate freezing the mild and hot separately and wasting a freezer bag, but Keith will go into a rage if he accidentally gets a hot sausage! Eh, the lamb is not too good here. Hamburger? Nah, tired of that. Hey, how about a leg of lamb? Not too big. I can make that on Sunday. Some pork stew meat. Hmmm...skirt steak. Should I be so bold? I'll have to go back to produce for cilantro and white onion. I'm going to try the real Mexican style...just spiced/grilled meat, a little cilantro and onion, on the mini tortillas. That's how Keith likes them. Ah...marinade, a use for those limes! Now we come to the deli counter. No, I want the homemade veal bologna...not the Scott Peterson! Keith only likes the homemade; and sliced newspaper thin. That kielbasa looks good; give me one of those. Time to head for the checkout.

This was about the porkolt though. I guess I'll post about that some other time.
