Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving dinner was great.  Very low key and low stress.  It was perfect.

I did lots of baking this weekend.  I made the apple pie for Thanksgiving day, walnut toffee, fudge (Dominick made this!),  and peanut butter brownies.  Not to mention all the food.   I made turkey soup with some of the leftovers and tonight I am making turkey enchiladas.   We only had a 12 pound bird so there isn't a lot of leftovers.

5 a.m. Friday morning Dominick woke up with another ear infection so we spent two hours at the doctor.  Not waiting!  Most of the time the doctor was in with us which was so nice and a wonderful change of pace.  Okay, she wasn't a doctor, she was a nurse practitioner and I think that we are going to switch to her being our primary care physician.  Just loved her to pieces.  Anyways, she answered my questions and spent literally 40 minutes flushing Dominick's ears of wax.  It was gross and I'll spare you the details.  The kid has always had problems with wax but not once has anyone done anything about it.  She did!   Another bout of amoxicillin for him.

Saturday I went shopping.  I hit Value Village and got some great deals.  A brand new pair of skinny jeans for Damian with tags still on, a sheet set for our king sized bed, a sheet set for Dominick's bed, a brand new pair of pajamas, cookie tins, a pair of shoes, a table cloth, and I'm forgetting something.  All for $49!  Not bad.  Dominick needed new shoes so I found an additional 40% off sale and got him two pairs for $15 each.  A pair of Nikes and a pair of converse.

Sunday was spent watching movies and football and cleaning house.  Good stuff.

update, holidays, thanksgiving
