My kids got me into it, and we bought the DVD sets and watched the whole thing in like two weeks a while back. I love it. My daughter is very worried that Korra will be a flaming Mary Sue, though. We'll see.
Really? Why does she say that? If anything, the writers have proven that they can write complex, story-driven female characters (Katara was nurturing, but she was also stubborn and high-handed; Toph had a disability that she overcame all on her own, despite having parents that tried to shelter her; Azula was a deeply complicated villain, etc.)
I expect her to be a little bit like Aang, but more like Katara/Toph because of the time period (and the turmoils) that the story has put her in (people being against the air/water/fire/earth benders.)
