In Which Someone Totally Calls the Truth Behind Balloon Boy

Oct 15, 2009 20:38

During lunch today, the biggest news was the Balloon Boy. The funny thing was, I switched from KFIAM640's Bill Handel Show (which discusses current events) to ESPN radio and THEY were the ones who I heard bring it up first. One of the hosts of the show that was going on said something interesting when they found out the family had been on "Wife Swap" before: he had a hunch this was staged. This was before the balloon landed.

Of course, his co-host immediately blasted him saying things like "Come on, a kid's life could be in danger!" But he did not back down. He continued by saying that you can never discount anything when it involves the kind of people who want to be on reality TV.

Listening to the reports on the way home after work, the willingness of the family to speak to the media startled me. The ESPN guy's hunch came to mind.

And guess what.

It turns out he was right.

What a bunch of douchebags.
