Announcing The What Ho Library, A Historical Resource Community
This is to announce the opening of the 
what_ho_library on Dreamwidth!
This is a clearinghouse for historical resources for writers of fic taking place in England and America from 1900-1940. There are entries on:
What's An Edwardian Word For Penis? (Sexual slang)
Writing Resources: Smut
Below Stairs: Valets, Maids And Other Servants
Gay and lesbian cultures
There will be entries about:
Upstairs life
Class differences between the aristocratic and business classes
Transportation
Clothing
Other sexualities
And other topics.
There is already an enormous amount of links and information, including a post, Ask The Librarian, for specific questions. Members belphegor and duskpeterson have been especially generous with links!
This should be particularly helpful for Sherlock Holmes, Raffles, Jeeves and Wooster and other fandoms set in the first half of the 20th century.
It will be continually be updated, so make sure to check it out regularly. Links and information are welcome, whether or not you are a member.If you are also on Dreamwidth, consider subscribing. When there is a new entry or an entry is updating, a post will be sent out.
