Well, my boy's birthday was Friday & he is now 4 YEARS OLD! I so very can't even believe it. And he really is turning into this super-sweet young man, right before my eyes. We gave him a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's on Thursday, & afterwards we had to lay down for a little rest as we were both completely exhausted. There we lay snuggling & as he thoughtfully stared at the ceiling, he looks at me & goes "Mom, today was a very good day. Thank you for my birthday." Tears welling, I say "You are SO welcome honey pie!" & felt SO proud that I'm raising such a sweet, loving & thoughtful child. I can only pray that he stays that way. Homeschooling looks more & more attractive to me every day. Anyway, he sure did rack up on pressies & he hasn't even gotten all of them yet. My mom has sent an enormous box o' shite that hasn't even arrived & he also received her card today that had 20 bucks in it... sheesh. I think it's safe to say she's feeling a tiny bit of guilt.
Speaking of mom, she lives in Orlando which just got hit by Charley. They're alive, but everything's pretty messy & they're without (landline) phone & have no power & don't expect they'll get either for a week or so. My brother lives on the eastern coast of Florida which didn't get hit as hard but still got the high winds & lots of rain. My grandmother lives in Okeechobee & is also fine, so YAY for my team!
Speaking my team....Stacey & her husband were nice enough to take us to the Titan's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns tonight (thanks so much guys!) & we TOTALLY kicked their asses (of course.) I have a feeling it's going to be a good season, even without Eddie George, which I hear didn't do too well this evening during HIS pre-season game. [tongue] NYAH!
OH HEY!!! We had a great time in Asheville! We met Kristin at the hotel, got ready, walked around a bit, had dinner & a beer & then headed to the show. The guys (of course) sounded SOOO GREAT (they really do put on the best live show I've ever seen) & we actually did get to hang with them for a bit afterwards! Highlight for me: While standing around outside Malaprop's, Adam Busch walks up & starts talking to us (WHEEEE!) & while we're telling him how much fun we had & how great they were....blah blah blah... I plopped down at the foot of this statue, you know, resting after a long day & coming down off of an insane caffeine & adrenaline buzz. A couple of seconds later, Adam sits down right beside me & there we sat & chatted. He is sooo sweet. *sigh*
Here are a few pics for ya.
Good Times.
Adam had us talked into making the trip to Atlanta the next day for the show there & we were seriously going to go, but poor Stacey had a HORRIBLE migraine & we couldn't make it. I haven't stopped listening to ALL of their CD's since we left. Z knows several songs by heart now & I catch him casually singing them while playing or whatever at any given time. I've said it a bunch & i'll say it again... I have the COOLEST KID EVER!
Damn....this has been a crazy-long entry. I'm going to bed.
