Beginging of April Thoughts... (Or something)

When I go back and read old Livejournal entries, I'm always glad I wrote them. Even when they're stupid, upsetting, or contain only one sentence. Livejournal helps me collect my memories. Sometimes I will read an old entry and I will be reminded of something I once did and it will make me smile. It's not that I had totally forgotten the event in question, but maybe I just hadn't thought about it in a long while. I no longer give out my Livejournal blog address to people. I'm not sure how many people read it anymore from the original list of readers I knew about back in 2004. I don't really care. Sure, I'm happy to have you all keep up with my life this way, (and I LOVE reading other people's entries... to the point that I sometimes read the updates of strangers), but at this point, I mostly post for myself. To remember. To reflect. To help me make decisions. And for a traveller, it sure beats a paper journal in terms of access and safe-keeping, (I don't know where half the stuff I went to NZ with is now... God forbid I lose something as important as my collection of memories).

I've been asked if I have a blog by several people lately. I've said no, or joked about the one my former co-worker/now friend Eliza and I have in regards to Mr. J. Franco. I've told them that I sometimes post notes to facebook about my life, (if you know me on LJ and FB, you know that I frequently crosspost). I've been thinking of starting a blog though. I even have some ideas for entries based on a conversation that I had with a fellow hostel-goer the other day. This blog wouldn't so much be about my personal life, but would instead be based on general ideas that *other* people suggest I post about. I like that. It's more of an exercise in creative writing than life-record-keeping though, so it wouldn't eleminate my need for LJ though. I don't think everyone should read my LJ, (I want to be free to say crazy shit about people, tell drinking stories, and confess stupid crushes), but I would be ok with everyone/anyone actually reading something written by me. Suggested topics for this "new" proposed blog include: Fondue Parties for World Peace, Conceptualized Mountain Dew-based Cocktails, and Best/Worst First Date Ever (they're the same thing). I think there is something fun to be done with this idea. I just need to train myself to write more. Since I enjoy it, (but have trouble getting started), I'm hoping i t can be done.

P.S. Crawling through one's old journal entries is interesting. I recalled all sorts of bands I used to like and realized that there are many "dreams" that I once wrote about that have now come through. Pretty cool.

P.P.S. Did you ever see The Social Network? If you could avoid using my LJ entries against me in a court of law or even in front of the dean of my school (what school?) I would really appreciate it. Not that I think I'll ever have 63 million dollars to give you. Maybe six? But 63, you be dreamin' fool. xoxoxo
