Yay, Rich and I are going on our trip in a few hours. The trip was in jeopardy after Rich experienced intense mouth pain for three days. He went into the doctor this morning and had his dry socket patched up, so we're good to go.
The plan is to drive down to New Braunfels, stopping in Schulenberg on the way to pick up yummy kolaches and lunch if we're hungry. Then we'll probably relax for the rest of the evening, or maybe go over to Gruene, which is a popular tourist destinations but really just a bunch of antique stores and restaurants. Then tomorrow we'll get up and go to Schlitterbahn, which is a waterpark with two locations, both in Texas.
Right now, I'm waiting for Rich to finish watching Manhunter so he can turn it in on time. He loves to rent VHS movies from this place in town. The upshot is that they only cost $1 to rent, but unfortunately they're due two days later at 10 AM and, well, they're on VHS. As a result, I've spent a lot of time on his exercise room floor since the only rooms in his house with VCRs are that, his parents' room, and his dad's office.
But I'm thinking of subscribing to Netflix because, although I've seen a LOT of new movies this summer, I'm still woefully ill-watched (like well-read? hmn.) The only question is whether I have the time to justify the monthly fee. I would definitely like the selection offered by Netflix. Blockbuster just doesn't cut it sometimes.
Or maybe I'll just join the Yale Film Society. Gah. I wish I had about twice as much time; then I could do all these things I want to do.
