So Franken has been declared the winner by the lower courts, but Coleman, the sore loser that he is (I have far choicer words), wants to push it to the State Supreme Court. This is expected and "sadly" within his rights to do. But it is only a delaying tactic to keep Franken from being seated. Franken will win at the State Supreme Court level, that much is pretty much guaranteed. What we will then find out is, is Coleman man enough to own up to his loss at that time, or will he - as so many of his republican colleagues would like to see - continue to push for a higher court. And will Pawlenty, given the State Supreme Court's ruling, follow the law and sign the paper certifying Franken. Or will he also attempt to delay.

The Senate Dems could work to seat Franken now. But the Senate Democrats have shown little spine in the past, so it is unlikely they will start showing any now. They better damn will do it after the State Supreme Court makes its ruling. They have no reason to acknowledge Coleman's possible push to the Supreme Court. Besides, this truly is a state issue, and any attempt to bring to the Federal level should be denied with prejudice. /rant mode off
