thanksgiving merryness....

a merry thanksgiving to you all!! why merry? i dunno... it sounds funner... and "funner" may not be a real word, but gosh darn it, i like it... so funner it is... but yes.... a merry thanksgiving to all and can't wait till its happy christmas next month.... oh dear... anyways....

lets see, lemme focus on today and see how long that extends out... if there's still room i shall backtrack for everyones reading pleasure... hmmm... holidays never go well in my house, cause holidays means everyones home and that can only be trouble... but anyways, today i of course woke up cause of my dad and his non-believing in sleeping in... ah well... but yea, he was like the macy's parade is on if you wanna come watch... i wanted to, but fell back asleep and then he came back again, so then i grabbed my blanket, wrapped myself up, put on my dorky glasses, slipped on my blue fuzzy slippers and trekked downstairs to my parents room, got in the bed and enjoyed 1 1/2 grandness of the parade....

but it made me all sad... it made me miss all the coldness and nyc... i want cold!!! and i wanna go back to nyc!!! i havent been in 3 whole years!!!! almost exactly 3 years ago actually, thanksgiving day 2000 we were there and watched the parade before my eyes.... awwwwwwwwww.... man i remember that trip, one of the best trips of my life... only my dumbass rejected going to the wtc because "they're only tall buildings, whats the big deal?!? we can always come back next time we're here...." GRRRRRRR.... sadly thats pretty much word for word what i said.... i'm an idiot... and of course of all the things my dad forced us to go see (*coughrockefellercentercough*), he didnt force us to go to the towers... blech... but i did go when i was younger... but, anyways.... i wanna go back to nyc!!!! *throws tantrum*

ok, back on track... i could go on forever about that trip.... hmmm... maybe some other time... exactly 3 years ago though... awwwwww... yea, watched the parade, looked at sales papers... good sales but am i gonna drag my ass outta bed 5 am in the morning?!? uh.... no... although the simpsons 1st season dvd is only 11.99 which is friggin cheap compared to the 30 some dollars it usually is... but that'll be sold out so fast.... my brother really wants it though... i dunno what to do... blech...

but yea... sat around for a bit and then got ready and went to a family friends house seeing as thats the closest we can get to family, sucks having your entire family halfway across the world, but ah well... but yea, i was strangely looking forward to just to get outta the house and see some people i havent seen in a while... got there, watched the miami/cowboys game... cowboys got whipped up on... WOOHOO!!! got to see pankaj (back from school) and then manuj and his wife were visiting for a few days... she's the sweetest thing ever, awwwww!!!! hmmmm, hung out with lucky, they're dog, awwwwwww, the cutest thing ever!!!! then eventually more people came, of course neerav didnt come, being a punk by forgetting his friends after getting a girlfriend, blech... but we went to blockbuster, got the usual suspects and finding nemo (muahahahaha.... i brainwashed everyone to rent that)... and got back and of course the dvd player wasnt working.... hmmm.... rachel and michael came... hadnt seen rachel in ages so we yapped and all.... who else was there, neha, geena and ohhhh yea, ankur surprisingly showed.... hmmmm... what else?? ohhh yea, so uncle decided to pop in the video from the wedding reception stuff from back in august... so that was on the whole time and me and rachel pop in and out every now and then... and then there's one part where a bunch of us are dancing and the cameras on me which is embarassing enough but ya cant see my face too well and then you catch a glimpse of me and then the auntie's are all like "ohhh neha, thats you?!?" hahaha... the amazing wonders that makeup and indian clothes can do to totally change the way ya look....

so then me and rachel get yapping about wedding stuff cause rachel was in a "girlie" mood.... ahahahah oh dear... and we decided that she's gonna have 3 different weddings.... the 1st will be the traditional white dress christian church wedding dealio....2nd will be a casual outdoor somewhere wedding... and then the 3rd will be a traditional hindu wedding with the red lengha and all that good stuff with mehndi and all that.... and we also decided that they'd all be back to back... yup yup... hahahah, her parents would freak i'm sure with all that stress.... and i decided that i wanna wear a big white dress just cause ya always see it in the movies and stuff... but i have no real reason to unless i'm marrying a white guy and we have 2 cool ceremonies, hmmmm.... my parents would just be like ?!?! and think i'm weird like usual.... ah well.....

what else? hmmmm.... had dinner and it was weird... like it was a real thanksgiving dinner at an indian thing, but yea, there was turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all that other weird stuff that i've never liked... but tried it all (except mashed potatoes b/c how in the world can you eat something with that texture?!?).... im horrible at trying different foods, so blech... sat down and started picking at stuff... how people eat turkey is beyond me... its all dry and cruddy and then you put that nasty looking gravy over it.... and then manuj comes over and sits with a plateful of indian food and i was like wtf?!?! they had indian food on the other side of the kitchen!!!! i gave away lotsa my food, picked/ate the rest and went and got me some good ole' chole and paneer.... YAY!!! funny how when i was younger i always complained about having to eat indian food every night for dinner, always wanting "american" food... and now when i have a chance at it, i prefer my indian food.... ahahah, oh dear....

then what else? had lotsa variety for desserts... haha, this time i went for the "american" foods... but avoided the pie cause pie is weird... my brother made cake!! ahahahh, the aunties thought that was the greatest thing.... it was a potlucky thingie, so my mom told us before she left that we hadda bring something even though no one expected anything from us... but he baked a cake, it was greatness.... and then what else? i dunno... with my mom being gone, i felt like i was responsible to take care of my mom's responsibilities... so i helped clean up and stuff... like when we're all sitting around and i go put my place away or something, i always grab the plates and all around me just cause... so i did that this time too cause i hate when people leave crap all over... you dont want people doing that at your house so dont do it other places.... so yea, i dont know, i felt like i should be auntie-ish... it was fun though... hahah, plus anita auntie and nitu are the sweetest peoples ever, so its good to help nice peoples.... yea, then in the car my dad thought i was trying to "show-off" by helping clean and then thanking auntie and all that.... WTF?!?! grrrrr.... and then my brother was just like "nope, she's really that weird, she always helps with picking up and all".... hahahah, i dont see whats so weird about cleaning... but i dunno.... again i somehow manage to stretch out 1 day to so much... but its ok, anik, this one goes out to ya....

but ohhhhh... lemme do my mumsy updates... she left wed.... i miss her lots already... she probably landed a few hours ago there... so hopefully she's sleeping off that jet lag.... but at the house i went today, on the wedding video i saw my mom dancing and that made me miss her more.... awwwww.... but she'll have loads of fun and hopefully bring me back goodies.... so good for her i guess.... anyways, signing off on this merry thanksgiving of a day... good day peoples....
