Flood mud is stinky

Well it's been a few weeks since I last updated about life.

I have learned quite a few things about myself through this tragedy. I know that I can't knock walls down and not be all girly about it. I also learned that I'm blessed with some amazing friends.

The first week after the flood my friend Shane drove all the way from Colorado to help my dad with the inital clean up. He brought us a TON of cleaning supplies which have all been used. He also brought us HUGE tarps which have been a blessing when it came to cleaning out pots and pans of flood mud...which smells awful.

The following week was demo week. We knocked all the walls down on the bottom floor and removed pretty much everything including the kitchen sink. We also had to take down our closets in the pantry which was so awful because they were fairly new but we had to get the mold in the walls that was starting to grow. We removed the insulation and I helped my dad spray the clorox and water mixture. Once everything mostly dries we will be spraying MoldX which will kill the mold completely and prevent new mold from growing. Luckily the mold only grew about 3 feet up the wall and wasn't thick. I cleaned up the basement stairs of the evil mold. That following week I felt sick from the mold.

Now we are waiting....waiting for the house to dry, waiting to get heat, waiting to see if the farmer's almanac is correct and we flood again. I HATE waiting...I just want to rebuild and go home...although every time it rains or snows I may panic.

We are also waiting for our insurance money.....waiting sucks

So that's really it as of now...
