It's been awhile...
It has been quite some time my friends. I suppose I could give you all some bullshit story about how I just haven't had time to update my livejournal. But, that would be untrue. The idea of posting my ideas, my thoughts, my fears, and my daily live on a website that I know multiple people read, has lost its appeal. Then again, talking to most people has lost its appeal these days.
So, here's my update:
My mom is now in a rehab facility in Florence. She's doing much better, thanks to the prayers of lots of people. She is still facing a lot of challenges in her future. But, she's made great progress and I'm very thankful for that.
My Dad took two chemo sessions in Florence and then went to Birmingham. They told him that the chemo had significantly reduced the size of his tumor. (For those of you who don't know, my dad was diagnosed with throat/vocal cord cancer right before my mom had her stroke.) Next week, he starts a rigorous regime of chemo and radiation, every day for seven weeks. After that, assuming that it's still successful, he will be done.
I've postponed my graduation until the August 07 degree term. It just wasn't worth stressing myself out to get a degree in May. Also, I'm not going to walk. But, I'll be in Florence and Lexington with a little extra time at the beginning of May to see people.
Other than these things, my life has been quite boring. I go to work. I go to school. I see a handful of people. I fight with one in particular a lot. But, that's going to be over soon enough, thank god.
I'm ready for Spring Break. I'm ready to stop worrying about school. I'm ready to dye my hair and cut it all off like Brittany Spears. (Yeah, okay, or not.)
Anyways, like I'm done. Time to go be a drunk for the third time today.
