(no subject)
So for the second year in a row I had Thanksgiving with my coworker J. and her family. Which is super sweet of her to take me in so I'm not sitting on my couch weeping because I'm not in Michigan.
However. The stuffing and gravy that they have at their house? JUST WEIRD. I'm a minimalist when it comes to stuffing. Not these folks. There were all kinds of things in that stuffing, topped off with hardboiled eggs. Is that normal? Am I crazy? And the gravy wasn't turkey gravy, which just baffles me. I mean, you just cooked a turkey and have all this juice available and you don't utilize it? WTF??
So I think tomorrow I will have to make some homemade stuffing to satisfy me. Sadly, I have no leftover turkey to eat it with, but I do have a frozen turkey loaf that I will cook up.
