And it's been a while
Well since I'm not on the other end of the country I decided that I should use my live journal again so people can keep in with me. It's been about 7 months since I've last done this so here goes...
I guess I should start with why I'm on the other end of the country. My Dad got a job here last August and he's been here ever since. The rest of my family is moving when my brother finishes high school which will be at the end of June. My original plan was to just come here for the summer but that's before I found out how much money I could make here if I worked for a year. Also, for every year I spend here I can get a year of school paid for. So will I be back in the fall? I hope so, and more likely than not I will be but there is always a chance it may not be that way. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Well NSSSA is over now for this year. I can say that my attitude going to REMIX was more "Thank God it's going to be over" than "I can't wait for conference!" My year as President was great, I did have a good time but it was a lot of work and it was stressful at time. There were a lot of other things going one that accumlated to the stress but I'll chalk the year up as a success. My attitude started to change almost as soon as I got to confernce, seeing the excited faces of CC two days before confernce started made me remember why I got involved way back when. Tuesday we did a little work for conference, that night we watched the Flame move on to the Stanley Cup final when they beat San Jose in game 6. The next day we did more prep work for confernce. We filimed the CC video, I slept in when my part was supposed to be filmed so only my face was in it! Oh well, I've been on stage enough. That night it was more prep work and we had a meeting with pep talks to get everyone ready for conference.
Thursday rolled around and it was time for confernce to begin. I was put on registration which was sweet because I got to see just about everyone come in for confernce and see how excited and confused they were. I met tons of people at supper and again that night in the common room. That night we had a hypnotist come and that's when I became friend with Red Pants. She made such a fool of herslef on stage I had to meet her afterward because I was laughing so much. Smac and I had a wondeful chat that night when I was supposed to be chapping. When I finally did make it to my post I was with Andrea and Amyotte, two of the people that I really wanted to talk to during confernce. We had some good chats and some unbelieveable funny chap triva via the walkie-talkies.
Friday came and I was totally in the NSSSA mood by then, I got to sleep in which was great because I was up late. The talent show was the best that I've seen in all my time with NSSSA. I had a ton of fun with Sights and Sounds when I got to do my act. We made everyone laugh which was our goal. Ian was amaing, Dustin is at least a 1/4 black, Gen is one of the most beautiful people I've ever met, it was just such a great show. More chapping fun that again that night.
By Saturday just about everyone was in the NSSSA spirit, it was another great day. Elections were sweet went over well with no problems, the dance was a ton of fun. I had to have a rough chat, well more listen Saturday night. I wish that I could say some things but I just can't.
Sunday and Monday were very emotional but good day, a great way to end the year.
