Some things you can't trust anyone with, even yourself

Mirax sat in her cabin, turning the datacard over and over in her hand. She'd given Wedge a copy for the Alliance, but she seriously hoped that they'd destroyed it. She didn't trust anyone not to misues what amounted to a pocket Death Star.

But did she trust herself? On the one hand, she'd never have the resources, or the interest, to construct one. But on the other hand... she couldn't just throw things away. She was a collector, after all.

She nodded to herself sharply and stood up from her console. It only took a moment to grab some adhesive and apply it to the back of the card, and then it was time to take a walk. A quick check of the time was all it took to make sure no one would be in the engine room.

And there she found precisely what she was looking for. Hyperdrive stabalizer matrices were solid-state and basically indestructable. They were kept acessible to engineering personel just in case, but most ships went their entire lives without anyone opening them up. Mirax popped one of the back access panels and stuck the datacard to the inside.

Some day she might need it...
