No:) Unfortunatelly i don't speak ukarinian, but I would like to learn it. Ukrainian is more simmilar to polish than russian, but it's still foreign language. and it's not such easy like some peolple thinks. I was 2 weeks in Kiev this summer. since that I'm interested in it, and of course, want to know ukarinian. How long have you been leaving in USA? Were you born in Urainian or USA?
(sorry for the mistakes and mixed tenses - I don't speak english very well)
I don't really speak Ukrainian either, unfortunately. I know a little bit here and there, but that's about it.
I wasn't born in the USA or Ukraine, I was born in Canada. And I'm a second generation Ukrainian Canadian, meaning my grandfather was born in Ukraine, but my father and I were both born in Canada (my mother is German).
I find that interesting, that you say Ukrainian is more similar to Polish than to Russian. I would think that it would be more like Russian, due to the Russian occupation of Ukraine and heavy influence over the Ukrainian language.
You're right - simply, i made a mistake. I wanted to say, that ukrainian is more similar to polish than russian is to plish:) of course, ukrainian is more similar to russian:) but in my opinion, almost all differences between ukrainian and russian are caused by polish influeces. greets, bye bye
I found you in learn_ukrainian group. I'm interested in Ukraine, too, so I would like be added)
