What a Week...

At work, we are trying to get our autistic girl (who wants to "hurt babies". etc) into town more often. Me and one of the female overnighters had the honors of bringing her to the post office one evening. She did really well, even though (just our luck) there was a woman who brought in her rowdy son. Me and the overnighter just shot each other an "Oh Shit" look and talked to the girl like nothing was wrong. lol She did really well, but I'll admit we bribed her with a chocolate bar (don't tell the supervisor!) and told her to finish it before she got back to the program. We are horrible. lol

So the next morning, P., my favorite (note sarcasm) supervisor says that the autistic girl is joining the group at the rec center (lots of children). I was shocked, but I thought it was a good idea to get her out more. I figured it would be common sense to partner her with me, since she is the most comfortable with me. P. apparently doesn't have common sense, and partnered her with a MALE that she NEVER works with! He begged her to switch the partners. The poor guy was so scared she was going to attack a kid. P. did nothing though, and to top it off, partnered ME with the girl the autistic girl doesn't get along with. (sighs). The male staff begged me to stay with him, and luckilly my partner was cooperative. The girls did really well, but the autistic girl was pretty shaky when she found out I couldnt go back to the program with her (I wasn't her partner, and my partner and the rest of the guys were going out to lunch after the rec). Apparently she had trouble right when she got back to the program, and was in the QR when we returned. Again, I politely suggested to P. that until the girl gets used to going into town, to partner her AT LEAST with female staff. P. insisted that the rec had nothing to do with her trouble. I give up.

I've also officially become the "swimmer". No other female staff will swim with the girls, so I have to bring my bathing suit every Saturday for when we go to the rec.

In other news... lol We have this new employee at work. He is so freakin' hot! I'm not talking my biased perception of hot (long hair, etc). I'm talking just conventionally beautiful man. He's about 6'3, 2something, solid muscle, spiked black hair and big blue eyes, perfectly straight and white teeth, plays on the college football team. He's such a nice guy, too! He's not the brightest guy in the world (exclusding his knowledge of nutrition), but it almost makes him more appealing. lol He and I had an awesome conversation about Ephedra products. No one ever knows what I'm talking about when I talk about a "stack". It was so romantic. lol I'm (half) joking about the conversation being romantic, but seriously, we really got to know each other and he seems cool (God, that smile... lol). I felt a little bad because the guy I'm sort of "seeing" at work, was sitting right next to me, looking pretty jealous, as I'm having this intense conversation with football guy. It's funny. I know intellectually the guy I'm seeing is the type of guy I should end up with, but part of me would rather have someone like football guy (yeah, as would 90% of straight women and 95% of gay men, I know, I know lol).

One of the little boys I visit in San Antonio seemed really interested in drumming. He went to a church service, and was introduced to the drummer, and the drummer offered to give him free lessons as long as he went to the service. The little boy is so excited to have met so many new friends, and is realy eager to learn. He's so cute. I mentioned that my parents were going to be moving down here soon and I'd have my drum set, so he's always asking me when they are coming. lol He's dying to use that drum set. I promised to go down to SA to watch him play at the church on Wednesday, even though I don't think he realizes how far SA is from here. lol I've been telling him I'd come for the past couple of weeks, so I'm really going to do my best to make it there this week after I get my car worked on.

Speaking of the little boy...

He has a tendency of finding stray cats/kittens and bringing them over to L.'s house (he lives next door...its a housing development). They technically arent supposed to have cats in the house, so L.'s mom wants to shoot him. lol He's actually the one who found stryke, and yesterday he found this pathetically cute stray kitten even smaller than stryke was. They asked if I'd bring it to the animal shelter and I said "NO! You remember what happened last time i did that!". I'm sure they'll end up keeping the thing. lol They already have 4 illegal fleabags, whats one more?

And a random picture of Stryke and my new tacky shoes:

Time to procrastinate cleaning, and laundry. :)
