Sunday was the 4-year anniversary of September 11th: the tragedy where thousands of innocent people lost their lives. Let this change your way of looking at America and its people. How many people actually cared about 9/11. Surely many do. So please sign and repost this bulletin. And if you can remember where you were when it happened that would be awesome.
1. Chris- I was in Mrs. Pullins social study class
2. Joey - Mr. Owens class. Ill never for the look on his face when he came in and turned on the TV.
3. Ravi- Was watching tv at 2am in Singapore, and it
4. Dustin- sad but true.i was drunk in Miss.Hogens class.
5. Anh - I was in Ms. Wigley's Math class
6. Tony-Same as Anh
7. Taylor- i don't remember my teachers name but i was in my english class.. and my father was in new york...
8. I was in Mr. Garvy's class and i was sitting with Gobbie eating my poptart!
9.Michelle- i was on the bus one of my friends had brought a t.v. to school i was watching it than but i thought it was all a joke until i got to school. very very sad day
10. Elyse - i was getting ready for school and watched the news the entire time. then went to school and everyone was crying and talking about how sad it was. then i went to Math and Mr. O'Leary would not let us watch the news.. he thought math was more important.
11. Jessica - I just had gotten to school, and everyone went into the library to watch the news.
12. VictorAngelo - I was painting in my art space and heard news of it on a nearby tv.
13. Michelle- I was on a NJ Transit train heading into the city when both towers were on fire. By the time I reached my office on 40th street one had already collapsed.
14. Dave~ I was off from work that day. I woke up 10 minutes before the first plane hit and i was watchin the mornin news at the same time.
15. Candice - I was there watching the whole thing.
16. The Goodz - I woke up late, as I often did, and turned on the TV. The first building was on fire when I saw the second plane hit. I drove to work anyway thinking it was a hoax or a bad movie or something. When I got to work, right across the water from the WTC, I watched the towers fall from the 23rd floor in my building. Took about 2 weeks to actually sink in.
17.~Renee~ I was down the shore in court....um long story.
18. Nick - I was in Starbucks in South Orange
19. I was in 3rd period Biology, probably passing notes with mike coakley. dr. jackson made an announcement and half the people didn't know that the twin towers and the world trade center were the same thing.
20. Nick - I was in the gym at my college. Someone walked by and said there was history in the making on television. We turned the channel to CNN and the rest is history.
21. Manda- I was sitting the the old cafeteria for study hall with Andrew Wright in highschool when I heard the news. The rest of the day was spent watching the news, except in his history class where we just talked about it. Of course that also happens to be my best friends birthday!
22. Jenna - I was in Sittig's Course II Math and he was just like, "Let's try to get through class because the rest of your day is going to be filled with as much of this as you can handle and more." I may have improvised a bit but that was the gist of it all...
23. Kay- I was in Mr. Corrigan's Economics class then is happened but I didn't hear about it until afterward in the senior hallway on my way to chorus. That day sucked not only because of what happened but because it was my 16th birthday.
24. John- I was in my office listening to Howard Stern when he started to talk about it and I thought it was a joked so I turned the radio off. About 20 minutes later I was walking around the office and one of the doctors had a TV on with a split screen of the Pentagon and WTC. And all I remember thinking was 3 things. 1) OMG I never thought this could happen. 2) Is Meg (my lil sis) ok? (she was at school in DC)(she slept through it) 3)Happy Birthday baby sis (Kay) this one is certainly memorable and infamous.
25. Steve - This is actually when I was still Brodie. I was in syracuse at my job...trying to produce two morning shows on local radio (TK99 and K-Rock), I was going back and forth between two studios. I was sitting in the studio of our classic rock station (TK) with our local ABC affiliate on as the first plane hit the first tower. I immediately ran into our modern rock radio studio (K-Rock), and told our morning guy Scorch that something had happened, and that he needed to change it off of MTV and to put on the news. Come to find out that all three of the big networks, as well as CNN and MSNBC had coverage. so we sat and watched in horror as things developed. Every on-air break for the rest of the morning, day, and the next two days mentioned developments. I personally did not leave that building for two days. We ran AP coverage via satellite for the next two days straight...only stopping to run ID's at the top of each hour. I slept there whenever I could. It was was such a draining experience....and the hardest thing was a few months later...interviewing people who had to help after the situation...hardest thing of my life.
26. Marissa - I had a softball physical at HVCC..my class was canceled so I went home. I turned on the tv to watch Regis and Kelly and instead I saw the 2nd plane hit the towers live. Sends chills through my spine till this day.
27. Dana - I was in the hospital in ICU slipping in and out of consciousness and thought it was a movie on tv from all the drugs they had me on (sad for me to say I know)
28. Liz - I was sitting in Ms. Rehm's first period chorus class watchin the news and wondering if it was my mom's plane that crashed into the Twin Towers. She was on a plane that morning. I didn't know where from or where to, all I knew was she was flying when it all happened.
29. Ady-I was going into Mr. Amell's class, it had already happened and they were showing it on the news. This was around 9 a.m.
30. Ransom - True story: The evening before (September 10, 2001) I was with a couple of my band members and some friends drinking on the top floor of the trade center because the next day we had a flight to catch so we went out to have some tourist-style fun. The next morning, we flew out of New York (mind you, on American Airlines in a 767 - the same type of planes the terrorists used) to Hamburg, Germany to begin our first European tour which was with Linkin Park, Dialated Peoples, and Puddle of Mud. When we arrived to the venue our drum tech (Bobby Twitchell) came up to me and told me that there had been an attack on U.S. soil that involved the WTC and the Pentagon. I didn't believe him until he directed me and the rest of the band to where everyone from the other bands and crews were which was crowded around a 13" television that was tuned to their local news and I still didn't know what was going on (it was all in German) until the second plane colided into the second tower. I couldn't believe my eyes and the combination of the reality of the travisty with the confusion of not understanding what they were saying made that the most horrific moment of my life. The show that night was canceled because the German government was apprehending terrorists in Hamburg who were involved with the attack.
31. .Nic. - I was between classes at school when someone came up and told me "a plane hit a building"...I said "what? when did that happen?" and the idiot, (I don't rememebr who it was) just shrugged and kept walking. I figured that I had missed something in the news, like a puddle jumper hitting a building or something and just went to class...When I got to Mrs. Rubenstien's ceramics class, she turned on the television after being told to do so by another teacher, Ms. Medici. That's when I saw what was going on. The first tower had fallen by the time that class was over, and the second was gone by the time I walked to Mr. Koskos' class, just down the hall.
Casey - I was in Mr. Thoel's Architecture Class when someone told us to turn on the TV. at this point we were in awe not know what to think. i was sitting there thinking what the hell, that pilot is retarded.. then the second one hit, and knew it was intentional.. we sat there watching and determining wheither or not the buildings would hold the planes.. wich they could.. the only reason everything came crashing down was the burning jet fuel melting away at the metal.. once it started crashing my heart sank and all i thaught about was the people at the top of the building with nowhere to go.... sad day indeed
33. Lindsay- I think I even posted that day on here. I was in Mrs. Rubenstein's class with nicole, except i think she was sittin at a table in front of me. I was standing near the back island attempting to make a bowl while joking around with Michelle Bates.. When I saw Mrs. Medici actually, run, into the room, i knew somthing had to be up by the look on Mrs. Rubs face when she told her what had happened. I remember standing there thinking this very thing, I will remember i was here in this classroom when those towers came down and so many people, business workers, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, etc, lost their lives, not to mention those our fallen police, EMS, and firefighters who put their lives on the line to save so many others.
