Exclusion, needed or excessive?
I ran into a situation the other day I thought I'd ask the group here.
I am a gamer Geek. LARP, Tabletop, MMO's whatever grabs my attention. I joined up with a new group this past Sunday for a Tabletop Game that will be running every other week, and something interesting happened.
People were sitting around kibitzing, talking about the game in general, and another guy who wasn't present at the time was brought up. Apparently, this guy is the Bottom of the Barrel when it comes to gaming. Rude, Crude, Smelly, Socially inept, the whole Stereotype package of a gamer geek.
Basically, they voted him "Out" of the group they were in, and restarted the entire campaign with the intent to make sure he wasn't getting in so they no longer had to deal with him.
Honestly, I've been around the gaming long enough, that I know there are people that man.. you just can't stand to be around. And it sounds like this guy has managed to piss off a group of about 10 people, INCLUDING the store owner..
I feel bad for the guy, but I also don't want to be stuck standing next to the guy whose breath whose smells like cheese and his armpits smell like feet for 8 hours..
What do you think? How would you have handled this?
