Women in Comics: Regressive Storytelling and Iconic Characters

I've been devoting more time recently to trying to break into journalism - difficult! - and realised it had been ages since I'd last written an opinion piece rather than reviews or interviews. I just think that in the end, Babs was so much more than just Batgirl.

Oracle was fit for her - and she was fit for it - and it used her intelligence without regulating her to a background character because she was disabled.

That's the issue I have with the Babs to Batgirl again is it takes away so much more of what Barbara Gordan *was* and *is*.

Definitely, and I think that's part of the progression of women over the decades that reboots often lose. Men have always been in the foreground - a reboot doesn't change that :/
