Felicia Day's remarks about female gamers at the ECCC Guild Panel

So this post popped up on my tumblr dashboard, and thought it'd be of interest to the group.

Comments made by Felicia Day about female gamers, plus transphobia

Felicia Day is the geek darling of the moment, she has scores of fans, and she's a very recognisable face of geek/gamer culture.

Full disclosure, I have never liked the guild, I find it intensely cringey, so I was never one of her fans, and that 'do you want to date my avatar' song gives me a case of the stomache throw ups.

But it's still sad for me to see Day, who is idolised by a lot of female gamers, to be telling girls to essentially shut up and play nice when faced with discrimination in the gaming community. It's fucked, frankly. I do not understand why anyone would think that was ok.
