I keep having posting issues on LJ, so this was later than I wanted it to be.

I'm back in the US in 23 days. Which will help me be a little more active with posting stuff to the community again, so I'm looking forward to that.

I love happy endings.

I think that's why I enjoyed Skies of Arcadia as much as I did. Everything ends so spectacularly -- everything works out for everybody and you get to see two of the characters married and the three main characters riding off into the sunset, to adventure forever and ever. (As a kid, whenever I was down I would reread the happy endings to books that I loved.)

But how many games actually give you a truly happy ending? How many games actually have good endings, period? It seems like game developers skimp on endings... (Bioshock, anyone? Also, I wanted to stab Ubisoft for the ending to the 2008 Prince of Persia.)

On a completely different note, I'm playing Dark Cloud (want to cross it off my backlog) and it is annoyingly hard. I keep messing up with the weapons building, and if I don't properly make weapons, my characters are too weak to take on anything in the dungeons. I wish there were more town-building and less dungeon-crawling.

I really fully recommend it. I mean, it's not the perfect game, but the characters are all so amazing I just can't even. RPGs these days tend to try go for the dark, brooding tone, but Skies of Arcadia is just so uplifting. The main character is as far away from "emo" as you can possibly get, and I just can't help but smile as I play the game.

(Though I would definitely go for the Gamecube version, because it has bonus content and the random encounter rate has been lowered so that it's not step-step-battle... it's more like step-step-step-battle. >_>)

I find if I use Ruby or Xiao (the catgirl?) I'm pretty much able to get through most floors without taking any damage, but the moment I try to use any of the close-range fighters I end up being near death more often than not. Which sucks because Toan has the strongest weapon right now... *sigh* I'm at the Moon Sea right now. I had to reset though because I accidentally let the awesome sword break into a useless dagger. >_>

I adored the ending to King's Quest VI when I was a kid, for just this reason. I'm talking about the best ending (there are four of them), the top score ending. It took me a couple tries and a lot of hints, if I recall correctly. But when you get it, you've played through the long version of the game and helped absolutely everyone you've met, and pretty much all of them are there in the closing scene to help your character celebrate his happily ever after. *happy sigh* AWESOME party.

Hahah, I'm with you on trying to get through the backlog. I finally beat Shadow Hearts the other day XD. I had a save file that was literally at the final dungeon, I just... never went through the final dungeon.

Do you have a backloggery? I love lists, so it's fun adding my games there. And it makes me feel so accomplished to have most of my games listed as beaten/completed as opposed to... unbeaten.

Hope you don't mind, I added you as a friend. :3

Most of the games I haven't added to the list are ones I don't really plan on playing, although there are a few that really I might as well remove because the chances of me playing are next to nothing.

She's one of the best characters on the show! But she doesn't appear until later on in the first season.

And she is incredibly stunning.

And she is incredibly stunning.

So so is. She reminds me of Karen Gillan from the new docter who.

Does anyone here read comics written by Mark Millar?

Is anyone else truly fed up with how badly he handles people who are meant to be smart?
