I really love the way their story is developing, so gradually and with such quiet warmth (although I know Dom is on simmer :)). It feels like both of them are just at the beginning of realizing that Dom could be a happy, cheering, *needed* presence in Billy's life outside of the student-teacher relationship, and it's just so sweet.

And I also liked that their powerful theme of want versus need begins, like so many beautiful stories, with trees. :)

I love this story and the portrayals of the characters. Maybe I should have waited for you to finish before starting to read it. It's one of those that leaves me anxious to read the next part.
