It might be cutting "Inhumanoids" just a little short to call it one of those cartoons I watched back in the day while waiting for the more interesting cartoons to come on, but I suppose I can think back to what I do remember of it and agree with your criticism of a "lack of character." Even if the human characters didn't have any impact on me, though, their equipment did sort of go into a general mental pool of "interesting gadgetry" (and I do remember being annoyed their vehicle seemed to keep getting demolished part of the way through every episode). In wondering about "thumbnail dismissals," though, I did have to admit I would respond to pretty much any possibility of watching an anime series from the 1980s with "yes, please," so I don't know what that says about me...
