I managed to start reading Scott Pilgrim right when the first volume came out (alerted to it through reading comics weblogs), and in some ways my impressions of the series may have been forever coloured by my very first thought "finally, one of 'those comics' about 'just hanging around as mundane stuff happens' that I can get into"... and then, the first "evil ex-boyfriend" showed up. At the same time, though, starting from the beginning may have let things fade over time, so that I think I ought to reread everything in one continuous effort but haven't got started on that yet. I did go see the movie, though, and it may have added to that slight desire to reread the whole series, as did this post.
