Wasting Time

Thanks to lizz for giving me an excellent excuse to waste some time i should be working in studio.

Name 10 bands/artists you are really into.
1. Keller Williams
2. Dada
3. Victor Wooten
4. Grateful Dead
5. Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade
6. Martin Sexton
7. String Cheese Incident
8. Umphrey's McGee
9. Steve Kimock
10. Rusted Root

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?: Hallelujah, Him performing live with keller in 02 on some live show I have downloaded. It was spectacular.

What is your favourite album of 8?: The only one I have now is Anchor Drops.

What is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?: Les actually has a lot of really...interesting... lyrics. I think one of my personal favorites is from David Makalaster:
"If you belive the things i tell you
I have a bridge or two to sell you"

How many times have you seen 4 live?: None, and unfortunately, it does not appear as though there will be too many opportunities.

What is your favourite song of 7?: Probably either 45th of November off the new album or Mrs. Brown's Teahouse.

What is a good memory you have considering the music of 10?: Seeing them perform live. Both times I saw them it was basically a best of show, and one part sticks out in particular- during Back To The Earth when the whole crowd was chanting as Mike sung. It was awesome.

Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?: There's a lot of songs on A Show Of Hands that are really beautiful, slow songs. None that make me sad, however.

What is your favourite lyric that 2 has sung?: Oh geez. That's easy. From "here today, gone tommrow:"
"well we went up to hef's
to meet some bunnies
I saw hugh, he was actin' funny
he handed me some grass
and a bottle of gin
that's about the time jack webb walked in
he said
son i'm gonna tell you something,
it ain't pretty
there's a thousand ways to die in
this naked city"

What is your favourite song by 9?: Tongue And Fucking Groove, closely followed by Moon People, Why Can't We All Just Samba and A New Africa.

How did you get in to 3?: I can't remember. I think either Amazon recommended him, or I heard keller talk about him in an interview.

What was the first song you heard by 1?: That was a historic occasion. Freeker by the speaker, Live with the string cheese incident on 4.23.02. I was sitting in my bedroom listening on my speakers. I honestly went 'wow' and, as they say, the rest is history.

What is your favourite song by 4?: Hmm... I haven't heard all of their stuff, but right now my favorites are China Cat Sunflower, Dark Star and Terrapin Station. Shakedown Street and Franklin's Tower come in somewhere around there too.

How many time have you seen 9 live?: No, but I just missed a show of his last friday around here. I was pissed.

What is a good memory you have concerning 2?: The knitting factory last wednesday. See my previous post.

Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?: Eh... not really.

What is your favourite album of 5?: Purple Onion, the only one I own as of now.

What is your favourite song of 1?: Oh christ. This is tough. Ummmmmmm.... Up In My Cadillac, Play This, Elephorse, Brunette, Roshambo, More Than A Little, Dudleywah, Bird Song (GD Cover), St. Stephen (GD Cover), In The Kingdom (Hot Tuna), American Car (mike doughty), Breathe, Turn In Difference, The River

What is your favourite song of 10?: Either Back To The Earth or Martyr off "cruel Sun"

How many times have you seen 6 live?: None, sadly.

What is your favourite album of 2?: El Subliminoso.

What is a great memory you have considering 9?: Playing Tongue N' Groove in my car while driving around my town at 2 am one night.

What is your favourite lyric that 6 has sung?:
"What about jesus? didn't he do it too?
hang out with the prostitutes
and have a drink or two
...
how about the president
just sheilding all them stones
if i could find a shield like that
i'd run around naked in my glass home"

What was the first song you heard by 8?: Anchor Drops
