Comments: This is a delightfully funny fic where John and Rodney are both given their heart's desire. Or, rather, they're given what they need in order to get their heart's desire, which is not quite the same thing. John gets a beautiful set of jet-black wings that have an...interesting effect on him when they're touched. Rodney, on the other hand, ends up being unable to get further than 20 feet away from John, or else they both feel ill. The magician that causes this is absolutely adorable, and I loved the description of the "McKay balloon." A fun read all around.
Excerpt: It worked, which was really not so surprising since Rodney was involved in the project. Ten minutes later though, being dragged like a particularly plump and protesting comet tail through the air above Atlantis, Rodney was beginning to wish he wasn't a genius.
"Slow DOWN!" he yelled at John, who was executing a perfect loop-the-loop ahead of him. John waved back at him, folded his wings and went into freefall. It was like being on the most horrific rollercoaster ever invented.
"I think I'm going to throw up," Rodney told a passing cloud.
