Expectation

I was driving home from work this morning (UPS) and I came to a though. This thought came while jamming to, THE LIGHT, a local station. Is it wrong to expect somthing in return for you obedience to God?
"Yes, why would you do somthing for nothing" I partialy feel.
"Because he is God I tell my self."
"If you tithe, should you expect wealth as some claim 'My income doubled the next day'. If you abstain from sexual immorality should you expect a girl friend or a wife."
If you do somthing good, do you do it with an expectation that you should be rewarded for it? Being good with expectation of a reward is truly greed. You would be using goodness as a form of currency to purchase somthing in return. It seems to me that, Yes, it's a heart condition. We do things for reasons that are selfish and selfless. But, as a christian, our focus should be on God not our self. Acts should be selfless to glorify God. Given that we should expect nothing in return is the spirit in us. However, the spirit is God and it is in his nature to give to those who love him, to bring glory to his name Amen! God bless all who read this.
