So much is going on at the moment. My dad, a few weeks ago was diagnosed with leukemia. He's in the early stages yet, so there is still plenty of time for a recovery. He says he feels fine, however, leukemia is a scary word. It doesn't matter how you feel physically, emotionally it will affect you. And it has taken a toll on him. Once he.....and the rest of us get over the initial shock, we can all move on and just deal with whatever comes.
My mother, almost died last night. She developed a sore throat early this week and let it go until it turned so painful she could barley talk. It ended up being some sort of abscess on her tonsils and last night had to have her throat cut open on the absess so she could breath. The doctor told her if she had let it go 24 more hours, she would have died. Luckily it was taken care of and she's now on the mend.
Lee and I start school in the fall. I decided to stop selling myself short and move forward doing something I WANT to do, rather than something that's just easy. I'm getting my Associates in Visual Arts, majoring in Photography. I'll get to do a lot of studio and portfolio work, which will really help me out for a job later. I'll also be dabbling in graphic arts, computer work, basic design, drawing along with paintings, sculpture and art history. I am thrilled. Lee will be starting his degree in Education. Also, because of Lee's dad being a deceased vietnam vet, starting September 1st, we'll be getting a $700.00 check the 1st of every month as long as Lee is in school. So, that's pays our rent, electricity and phone bill allowing Lee and I do go to school full time, and each work part time.
So, that's it. Life is bitter sweet right now.
I'm done.
