Hogsmeade Carnival August 23 - 26th

Jul 14, 2006 22:19

Hogwarts 'Reopening' Celebration will be at the tail end of this, Saturday night.

McGonagall and other influential people - namely business men in Hogsmeade who want the patronage - are going to 'arrange' for extra Auror security throughout the weekend, so people who are on the Ministry Registry may attend beyond curfew, as long as they 'file' their 'agenda' with the Ministry before hand.

Think of the various Renniasance Faires you've been too, small-town 'celebrations', state faire carnivals, etc. Does your character run a business? Regardless of where that business is located, running a 'booth' or some sort of a 'game' during this carnival is a great way to advertise your business. Remember Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Britain, so 'anything goes'.

Do you have a favourite charity? Orphans? Hogwarts? St. Mungo's? Malfoy/Black Legal Defence Fund? Local Libraries? Have a bake sale or a pay-to-play game with proceeds going to your favourite charity!

Unlike other 'big game events', we will not be posting the main 'topics' for these days. There will be an admin post here and there for various things, but anyone who wants to can start their own topic describing what sort of 'booth' they are running. If you are running the same booth each day, just re-post it each day. If you only want to/have time to do it one or two days, just post it then.

Wagtail, how about a performance one of the evenings during the informal 'jam sessions' that are sure to occur?

The possibilities are endless!

Bake sales, craft sales, sampling of wares - anyone make homemade dandilion wines? How about various contests - if you want to run a 'bake-off' or other contest which will require preparation, be sure to 'advertise it' soon on the main-game community. How about broom races?

The administration team will be organizing the Hogwarts portion of the event on the final evening of the final day. The rest is totally up to you guys. At the beginning of August, we'll post another 'planning' topic here in the OOC to see what people have in the works.

Right now, what we need to know - is there enough interest in doing this, 'out there'? Will you/your character be participating in actively running a 'booth' of some sort, and/or will he/she be attending the events?
