1. Pairings, scenarios, genres and kinks that you are willing to beta. I can read through sex, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if a certain kink or act is being portrayed super accurately. I am okay with most pairings, but my bias lies in slash and/or Arthur. 2. Pairings, scenarios, genres and kinks that you do not want to beta. There's not much I won't read, but whether I can help with the portrayal of certain things (like BDSM, for example) is a different story. Dub-con or non-con are okay, but know that I will be extremely critical of how those scenes are handled/portrayed. 3. Preferred mode of communication (email, pm, reply to comment). PM or comment first, then email after 4. Maximum length (in number of words) that you are willing to look over. I don't have a length limit, but the longer the fic, the longer the turnover time. While long fics don't bother me, I think I would request an outline or an overall plot for the entire story so I can help shape the fic as chapters are sent. 5. Time constraints, if any. I generally respond to emails within 24hrs (may be faster depending on your time zone). I'd say the shortest turnaround time is maybe 1hr for every 2 double-spaced pages, roughly. I am currently in Japan time (GMT +9?)
Etcmy own fic archive, so you can decide for yourself if you think I can help you. No Inception fics yet. I try to be thorough and thoughtful with fics, so depending on what you are asking for, you could get a fic completely marked up. More often than not, I might spend a paragraph explaining why I changed one sentence :x (can you tell from how long this comment is getting?) I use MSWord track changes, but we can negotiate that. I don't mind chatting or regularly emailing/messaging writers. I like working most with storytelling and pacing :)
Also, as a random thing, if anyone wants crit for fanart too, I don't mind doing that either. I think I would work best for artists who are used to receiving criticism on their art, ideally on an academic level.
I'm currently writing an Arthur/Eames fic that I'm hoping to use for inception_bang -- would it be possible for you to beta read it, when I've got some more of it done? I would be looking for help on the plot, consistency and structure more than anything else. :)
I'm aware that it might not be your thing as it really won't go above a PG-15 despite it being (planned to be) about 20k, so I won't be offended if you say no. :)
