Before considering this character or applying for this game, please at least skim the following threads so you are familiar with game history and have a sense of whether this is a game for you.
Starting game plot and key events to the present. Backstory plot that lays the foundation for in-game events. Hogwarts reorganisation under Headmistress Minerva McGonagall. This topic is particularly of-interest to a potential Katie Mun, as Katie was Slytherin House Coach for the first year of Hogwarts restructuring and Gryffindor House Coach the second year. Further details below.
Wizarding government and politics. About the Ministry Tracking Devices and Registry. Game calendar of upcoming events. Fiery Inception and Deathly Hollows. We are a large game that has been in-play for two years. This naturally means that Muns have come and gone as interest waxes and wanes. We are eager and willing to help new players get settled in, but having an understanding of the starting foundation of the game is particularly helpful for everyone.
We do not want someone to attempt to mimic previous Mun's playing style, but it is often necessary to keep certain plot-points pertaining to the character involved because it has a broad-game effect.
Please note: Blatant plagiarism of a previous application will not be tolerated and will result in instant rejection of the application.
This topic will review the important game-history points for this character.
Katie Bell came to the game as one of the starting Chasers for the Hollyhead Harpies, though she had recently suffered a shoulder injury which temporarily sidelined her ability to play. At that time, McGonagall was seeking coaches to fill the various House positions to accommodate her new, more elaborate Quidditch program. When Oliver Wood, Chaser for Puddlemere United, took the Gryffindor coaching position, Professor Snape's competitive instincts were roused and he insisted McGonagall make every effort to fill his House coaching position with a professional player as well.
Needless to say, there weren't many pros looking for such minor-league positions, nor that were willing to work with Snape of all people.
Katie Bell eventually agreed to the position, but the animosity between her and Snape was always an obstacle. They were only just able to manage tolerable professionalism with one another. By the end of the year, Oliver Wood took a new post with an Australian team and left Britain. Katie took his Gryffindor coaching position, for which she is much better suited and much happier. Remus Lupin is head of Gryffindor House, and he and Katie have a very amicable working relationship.
Charlie Weasley returned from Dragon chasing to come home and settle down among his family. He and Katie re-met, having known each other briefly during the year they were both in school and Gryffindor House together. They instantly hit it off, fell in love, and in their mutually impulsive, romantic, live-in-the-moment natures, they eloped shortly before Christmas.
Unfortunately, Molly Weasley, who we all know has difficulty with apron-strings, was very hurt and angry that she would be 'shut out' of such an important event in the life of one of her children. Charlie, not Katie, bore the brunt of this maternal guilt, but it has still put a strain on familial relations that everyone would like to find a way to mend. Katie and Charlie have talked about possibly having a 'real' ceremony for all their friends and family to attend, in an effort to appease Molly, though whether to continue to pursue this would be up to the Mun for Charlie and the new Katie-Mun.
Arthur Weasley has recently announced his decision to run for Minister for Magic. With present political clime, he will need all the help he can get from all his family. Having a daughter-in-law who is a well known Quidditch star supporting him would be an enormous publicity boost to his campaign.
Other important events in her new family would include Bill Weasley's unfortunate divorce from Fleur, who then went home to France. Ginny Weasley is now a Healer at St. Mungo's and works extensively with Snape on some sort of research regarding werewolves that Katie would be vaguely aware of, but not specifically. The twins now have two shops, having opened a branch in Hogsmeade. Ginny lives with them in the flat over the Diagon branch while Ron lives over the Hogsmeade Shop.
Katie and Charlie have been living in Bill and Fleur's house. Bill is presently out of the country, having gone on 'walk about' to have time to rethink his life after his wife left. Charlie has gone into business with him, doing curse-breaking on a contractual basis. The business is just starting, so the usual financial headaches of that sort of huge venture is another source of stress on the new young couple's marriage.
Shockingly, in the midst of political aspirations and marriages and divorces, Arthur and Molly Weasley have decided that perhaps they would like to have another child. As Wizarding life-spans are so much longer than Muggle ones, so is the age of fertility, so this is neither unusual nor remotely difficult. Their age presents no barrier. Still, it has come as something of a shock to the seven Weasley children who probably can't help but think 'ewww!' at the idea.
The Mun for Charlie Weasley is not looking for a 'perfect' or 'cookie-cutter' happily ever after relationship, but would like to play out some of the natural angst and challenges of two impulsive people jumping into a marriage before they really had a chance to know each other's quirks and foibles. Obviously the path to family reconciliation will give plenty of opportunity for character interaction and personal growth and development. Katie is also a 'well known' figure that would make a rich Death Eater 'target' for future dramatic/dangerous plots if the Mun is interested and willing to play with some danger and angst.
Because the Mun for Katie has only recently left the game, we are especially eager to fill this position as soon as possible in order to prevent disruption of the various story lines. Our Mun for Charlie will be temporarily unavailable until February 26, but she would like the opportunity to talk via AIM or Email with potential new Katie-Muns before application approval.
Ideally, a potential Katie applicant should read the above game-history links and information, and then contact the Admin team at fiery_inception (at) yahoo (dot) com. We will put you in touch with Charlie's Mun to dialog together and see if your ideas for the character and mutual opinions are compatible for this role.
This would be a very fun, energetic, dynamic character to play. A Mun for Katie Bell Weasley would never lack for anything to do.
