Character's Name: Evelyn Moon

Email: DiamondMuse@gmail.com
AIM: TwilightinViolet
Other Instant Messenger Programs: N/A
AGE:(Must be 18+) 22
Past Rpg Experience: Several months playing Harry Potter in FI and approximately eight years of online roleplaying experience, including roleplay on forums, in chats, and in IM, one on one or with large groups. I successfully created and ran an original roleplaying game for over a year with eight players, which took place primarily in AIM chats.
Where did you hear about our RPG? From Lisa!

The following situations may or may not arise over the course of the game. You, as a player, are never required to participate in anything you do not wish, but the situations might arise around you. This is an adult game set in a fantasy world where there are definite bad-guys out there.

Having said that, please tell us you you feel about:

Het, slash and femmeslash: I’m pretty much good with whatever floats your boat.
NC-17 material: I don’t read or write a lot of smut in rpgs but I don’t mind if other people do.
Violence: Fine with it.

Part Two- Character Info
Character Name: Evelyn Sela Moon, nicknamed Evie
Age: 21
Birthday: April 19
Wand: Apple tree wood, unicorn hair, nine and a half inches.
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline: Pureblood
Political View: Firmly neutral. Evie’s family has a history of avoiding political involvement. She has a slight tendency toward pureblood superiority-enough to want to rub elbows with the oldest and most prestigious pureblood families, but not enough to ignore or disdain the rest of the population, at least in private, and certainly not when a wider association can benefit her.

Appearance
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 130
Build: Small and slight, without too much in the way of curves.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Dirty-blonde naturally, dyed platinum blonde with WonderWitch products from Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.
Dress style: Haute-couture, trendy, eclectic, and vintage. Evie has been making and wearing her own clothes for years.
Discerning Marks: Evie likes to make a statement, particularly as she’s become a walking advertisement for her own business, and always dresses in clothes that are sure to get attention. She has an old half-moon scar on her forearm.
PB: Gwen Stefani
Sexuality: Bi-curious. Evie admires the beauty of women and has had one or two crushes on females in her school days, but never acted on them, as opposed to three short relationships with boys in her fifth and sixth years.

Psychology
Introvert/Extrovert Extrovert
Boggart is? Explain. Due to a childhood encounter with a neighbor’s beast (resulting in the scar on her forearm from being bitten), Evie is terrified of large dogs. Her Boggart is an enormous and exaggeratedly vicious version of the Rottweiler she was terrorized by as a child.
Patronus--can they produce one? Evie cannot produce a Patronus. Defense Against the Dark Arts was always her worst subject.

Personality
Ambitious, creative, and calculating, Evie is looking to get ahead in life and will let nothing stand in her way. A quick thinker and a problem solver, Evie looks for what must be done to reach her goals, forms a game plan, and then dives in, and tries to have fun along the way. She puts her talents and her creativity to good use, never letting any resource at her disposal go to waste. Evie enjoys solitude and company in equal measure; she likes having time alone to design and sew her clothing, but she also enjoys the company of friends and likes to rub elbows with high society. The people that Evie loves most in the world are her mother and father-she was doted upon in the way of an only child, and always given support and free rein to pursue her interests. Evie is determined to make a living off of her talent with clothes, and a good one at that-she wants to be rich. She is politically unmotivated beyond reading the newspaper and voting in elections; she would sign a petition for a cause she believed in, but not attend a rally for it. Evie expects that marriage to a pureblooded wizard is in her future, but is not really thinking about romance at the moment. She fears failing at her goals, particularly where clothing design is concerned, and being poor.

Family
Parents? Accalon and Sela Moon
Siblings? None
Family dynamics--do they get along? Opposite sides of the war? Accept their child's magical talent? Pressure for 'pure blood' marriage? Evie loves her parents fiercely, as they love her. Growing up, there was not a lot of money in the Moon household, but if material objects for their daughter were lacking, Accalon and Sela gave affection, support, and protection in droves. Past Moons, during Voldemort’s first uprising, crossed Muggles off their family tree, mysteriously transformed half-bloods into purebloods, and married their children to purebloods for the protection of the family, traditions which have continued to the modern day. It got them through both of Voldemort’s uprisings, as well as the following political upheavals, with little notice. Even with Voldemort dead, the current Moon generation prefers to fly under the political radar.

Lifestyle
Occupation: Clothing designer; about to open her own fashion boutique.
Residence: A flat above the boutique.
Financial Status: Moderate. Evie is already richer than her parents through designing and selling custom outfits (she has a mail order business), but most of the money she's made has gone to material for her clothes and her soon-to-be-opened boutique.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time: Evie was briefly considered for Ravenclaw before being placed in Slytherin, where she made friends and acquaintances with some children of pureblood families much older and richer than hers. She was greatly impressed and decided from her very first year that she would strive to attain the same wealth and status as some of her classmates, using the talents she had. She had always enjoyed designing clothes and even made some of her own outfits, but never before had she seen this skill as a potential source of income. She continued to create and design all throughout her school year, honing her talent and building her collection.

Evie had little talent with Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration, though she did well in Charms and Herbology and was a fair hand at Potions. She stayed far away from Care of Magical Creatures because of her lasting fear of large animals, and dabbled in Divination and Muggle Studies, mostly out of interest in the types of clothes Muggles wore. She was later encouraged by her parents to drop Muggle Studies for her own protection when rumors of Voldemort began to resurface, which she did willingly, finding that many of her housemates shunned her for taking it.

Evie was allowed to remain in school after Voldemort’s return, though her parents came close several times to removing her. But her grandparents and aunts encouraged Accalon and Sela to act as though they had no reason to be afraid, and in the meantime, the family examined and reexamined the family tree to ensure that all Muggle ties were erased or hidden. The family avoided stating sides when they could, and when forced to, answered simply, “We stand with purebloods.” Not wanting anything to do with Voldemort or the Death Eaters, the family lived in fear of the youngest Moon, Evie, being drawn into the Death Eater fold. Neither did they want her to end up among the opposition, fearing taking either side would result in her death.

After Evie finished her seventh year, she returned home to her parents' flat in London where the three hunkered down through the following two years of war, waiting to see what the outcome would be. Evie occupied herself with furiously sewing clothes to keep her mind off the war and the fates of her yearmates. The Moon family managed to keep under the radar, and after the war's end they remained quiet through the appointment of Shingleton and the other Ministry measures to ensure the "safety" of the community. Evie opened a mail-order business to make money, selling custom-made pieces as well as her own lines, her goal of having funds and a collection large enough to open a boutique always on her mind. She advertised her mail-order business through Witch Weekly and put the money she earned toward materials for her clothes and the future boutique; one of her greatest successes was a 5-page feature spread of her clothing in Witch Weekly. In early 2001, Accalon and Sela announced that they were dipping into their own life savings to match the amount that Evie had raised, and would not hear a word of Evie’s protests. She finally had enough money and clothes for the boutique, so she rented a space and began transforming it. Good Night Moon: An Urban Boutique, located in Diagon Alley, is nearly ready for its grand opening.

Though Evie managed to stay out of the war completely, she’s glad that it’s over and that Harry Potter triumphed; the climate of fear that permeated the entire community after Voldemort’s return is not something she’d wish to see repeated.

Evie was shocked and appalled when her Potions professor and Head of House, Severus Snape, murdered the headmaster-she had some liking for him and never wanted to find out that he was a Death Eater and a murderer. Now that he's been pardoned and reinstated, she's not sure what to think of him.

Evie never has and never will comment on the fact that the Malfoys were once Death Eaters. She’s acquainted with Draco from school and has no reason to dislike him; her concern regarding the Malfoys is with their status and connections.

Evie doesn’t pay much attention to issues such as the Registry and werewolf discrimination. She doesn’t particularly like either issue, but she has no interest in getting involved with politics.

Bellatrix Lestrange may be crazy, but she frankly seems dangerous as well to Evie, and she wishes she were still in St. Mungo’s.

What plots would you like to pursue with this character? What short and long-term goals does the character have for his/her future? Evie’s short term goal is to open her boutique, and her long-term goal is to become wealthy and famous from her designs; the first plot I’ll be pursuing is the grand opening of her boutique. Perhaps a pureblood courtship and marriage plot is in the future-Evie and her family would certainly benefit from alliances with powerful pureblooded families.

Once you start playing the game and get a feel for your fellow players and characters, assuming the interaction is favourable, how long could you anticipate staying with this character and this game? What is your usual pattern of longevity in role-playing games? I anticipate staying as long as FI lasts. I really enjoy this game and there are lots of long-term plot opportunities in the future.

What is your usual pattern of availabilty and play-time for a character and game which you enjoy? I’m around most every day and usually post within two days.

Now that we've got a sense of your characterization, this is where you get to really showcase your writing style! Give us everything you've got! Remember--this sample must be a 'fresh' sample relevant to our game and the current setting.

Sample Journal Entry: [Private to self] Mum and Dad went with me to the printers today to pick up the invitations for the boutique opening. They look as lovely as I could have hoped. I’ll be advertising all over the place, of course, but the personal invites are for the rich and famous…I’m hoping that the eveningwear will appeal to some of the older generations. I’ve done my best to create something for everyone; I guess all I can do at this point is just cross my fingers and hope that they’re well received.

Speaking of the boutique, it looks gorgeous. The paint job’s all done and the carpet was installed today; the job was already finished when I came in in the afternoon. I can’t wait to see how it looks with all my clothes. Mum and Dad and I are moving them out of storage tomorrow and putting them on the racks, and dressing the mannequins as well. I’m going to have the mannequins in the windows every day until the grand opening. Get some buzz going, with any luck.

That reminds me, I owe some old classmates an owl.

Sample Third Person Writing: In her studio above what was soon to be her very own boutique, Evie circled a torso mannequin with a critical eye, scrutinizing the dress that hung from its frame, an cocktail dress made of iridescent emerald silk taffeta, v-necked with off-the-shoulder straps, a wrapped bodice, and a pleated knee-length skirt. Every now and then she would step forward to pinch a bit of fabric between her fingertips and pluck a pin from her mouth (a row of them were compressed between her lips) to stick into the fabric, adjusting and readjusting the fit. The Weird Sisters were blaring loudly from a speaker in the ceiling and she hummed along as she worked, stepping back only when apparently satisfied with the way the dress molded to its frame. She gave it one more going-over, then took out her wand and charmed it to lift very carefully from the torso, ensuring that not a single pin was jostled out of place.

With a few flicks she directed the floating garment over to her sewing table, and another flick had it settling as gently as a cloud onto the surface. The wand went back in the pocket of her pin-striped black capris as she took her seat at the table. If there was a charm for sewing, Evie didn’t know it yet-and what a lot of time and effort that would have saved her! But she liked performing the task herself, or with the aid of a Muggle sewing machine; there was something soothing, almost meditative, about the activity-and the satisfaction of producing a beautiful garment with her own two hands was something she wouldn’t trade for the world.
