Specific Arthur/Eames
What I can remember is that Eames kept asking Arthur out, for coffee and lunch and dinner and all sorts of things, and Arthur said no every time.
Ariadne started nagging Arthur about giving Eames a chance, and eventually Arthur told her why he always refused Eames. It turned out that the first few times Eames asked Arthur out, Arthur went but Eames never showed up.
To show Ariadne, Arthur says yes next time Eames asks, and both Arthur and Ariadne end up waiting in a restaurant until it becomes obvious that Eames isn't coming.
I'm pretty sure that it was a case of crossed wires, and that Eames thought that Arthur wasn't being serious when he agreed.
