(ok, so maybe it doesnt SOUND that exciting, but it seriously is!)
I came up with it in class today, when we were talking about islamic reform movements in the 1900-1920s. It covers all the basics! Media! Nationalism! Modernization! Development! Interaction b/w Europe and the Middle East! and my personal favorite: Feminism!
I'm so excited!
I talked to my professor and she said that there is a TON of literature on the subject, TONS of which is right here in the AUC Library. Hell, I bet we have the ORIGINALS in our Rare Books Library.... drool.
(but for right now I have to stop day dreaming and get some homework done. For realz this time. I seriously have to catch up and start working harder on arabic. Harder = MORE than the 2-3+ hours I've been putting in every night [the class meets for 10 hrs a week, so figure I'm supposed to be studying about 20-30 hours a week, but in order to REALLY know it, I'm going to have to be putting in about 45-50 hours a week, JUST ON ARABIC. So, off to do that, and perhaps some laundry, which is important because I am plum out of underwear.)
