Theme: Theatre
Residents of the island may notice posters advertising a new and exotic type of theatre appearing on the sides of buildings and in the marketplace near the waterfront. Not many residents are familiar with this type of theatre, but the posters seem to be causing quite a stir.
There is gossip about just what it could be and many residents are interested in attending a show simply out of curiosity. There are also those who do not wish to see it because it is not something they know. A few of the newer residents may know this type of theatre to be Kabuki, but those not familiar with it simply attribute its popularity to the rise of Japanese influence in other parts of Europe, specifically in France.
In truth, Kabuki is not new, but over 200 years old, originating in Edo, Japan. The posters advertise a traveling troupe that will be performing a few shows in the coming weeks before moving on to the next city.
