It is the first Sunday in Advent, so now I am playing Christmas carols on iTunes.
It was snowing earlier today, but not for a while now: outside the roads are fairly clear, but the pavements aren't, and stretches of pub courtyard that were not trodden on earlier today are still lying crisp and white and untouched.
I'd better give myself an extra couple of minutes to walk to work tomorrow.
The next step in the patchwork saga has gone relatively smoothly. I pinned the patchwork top, the batting (middle layer), and the back layer together, using some curved safetypins that I got at the show yesterday. They were actually very useful and efficient: one of those little strokes of genius that you don't actually think about till someone else tells you they exist. Tomorrow I'll try working the sewing machine on some of the spare fabric and batting, to make sure that I can actually get the quilting stitch right before I try it on the real thing.
(Unless something else intervenes.)
Had fun earlier going through some of my purchases from yesterday. I'll take a few into work tomorrow just to show, because . . . well, because they're pretty.

Magna est Veritas
Here, in this little Bay,
Full of tumultuous life and great repose,
Where, twice a day,
The purposeless, glad ocean comes and goes,
Under high cliffs, and far from the huge town,
I sit me down.
For want of me the world’s course will not fail;
When all its work is done, the lie shall rot;
The truth is great, and shall prevail,
When none cares whether it prevail or not.
