Current politics in the UK is depressing. I am hoping for a horrendous explosion (political, not physical, much as the Guy Fawkes approach appeals) and severe problems with Brexit next week, given the upcoming votes in Parliament. In particular, the one where Theresa May just about managed to swing things this last week by making promises to the Tory Remainers, and then went back on her word the same day after the vote. Nothing like a public demonstration of untrustworthiness. (And speaking of public demonstrations of untrustworthiness, I daydream about the police investigating the Leave.EU people (Arron Banks and Farage and that lot) on the grounds that they cooperated illegally with the Russians . . .)
Sorry, that's probably more politics than you wanted.
I've finished the UK and US copy-edits of book 5 and sent them back, and am now getting my head down in book 6. Nothing bad has happened for a chapter or two, so an action scene is probably indicated . . .
The weather's turned slightly cool again, for which I'm grateful. According to the weather forecast, it's going to be blazing hot down south and in London for the next few days. I definitely prefer a more temperate model. The twice-yearly release data is also about to hit our work systems: we're all at the stage where we go, "Good! Now we can get our teeth into it!" In a few weeks we'll be cursing it, but at the moment we're looking forward to it.
