quilting idea

Okay, I have a new project idea.

I currently have the earrings I've made jumbled in pairs in bags in a box. This is not the best method of organising them. (Why has this come to mind, you may ask? Because a friend asked me to bring some in to work today so she could choose some, and it was very difficult to show what I had.)

So what I need, I think, is to make a quilted roll or two. If I do a sample one that's about 50cm by 50cm, black velvet (or at least black velour) with padding in the middle and a nice plain cotton on the back, sew all three layers together with a bit of quilting to keep them together, then sew some thin ribbons across it at regular intervals to hook the earring wires into, and make the whole thing so that it can roll up and be tied with a ribbon, that should be a reasonable way of storing/transporting them.

Can but try, anyhow.
