Overall Information/Summary

Will contain spoilers for Kuroshitsuji II for the entirety of Alois Trancy. Please don't read if you intend on watching the series. (Although to be perfectly honest, my opinion is Kuroshitsuji II is terrible and there's really no reason to be watching it. I just like Alois, okay?)

On The Matter Of Progress In thoughtformed:

Alois has turned fifteen since his foray into New Moore. A year of development without a Kuroshitsuji cast has been great for him. It's forced him to develop separately from depending on demons. Like small ducklings, he still has issues with imprinting and has imprinted on an older, half-demon man who is nothing like Claude.

The adjustments have been very hard for him to make, but he's learned how to give people space. He isn't one-hundred percent rehabilitated, but he's learned a lot of How To Pretend To Be A Normal Boy from observing the way other people act. If you can't control them, fit in with them and find out how to control them from the inside.

That said, he's still completely nuts and is prone to lapsing into episodes of PTSD. Sorry to everyone!

General Information:

He's an unremarkable boy in terms of power. He has no strange senses; no super powers; nothing to his name except suicidal persistence in the face of rejection. His personality is a different story. In order to understand, one must look to history.

It began as a boy and his younger brother living with their parents, happy as peasants can be -- until their parents died. From what we can tell, no funeral was held and no provisions were provided by the small town most of England didn't know existed.

The children took to thieving to survive, living in their parents' home which was falling apart without proper upkeep.

Children have wishes. Jim Macken wished everyone who treated him and his brother badly were dead. Luka Macken had a wish: that his older brother's wish would come true. The difference between their wishes was Luka's desire was strong enough to draw the attention of a demon.

At the expense of his soul, Luka made a contract to kill the villagers. His brother lived, eventually found by human traffickers and sold to an old pervert.

Jim Macken adopted the name Alois Trancy -- the name of the Earl Trancy's missing son, who was kidnapped when he was an infant -- when he became the old man's favourite boy. The fact he continues to go by "Alois" because he likes the way it sounds says a lot about how his mind works. It's interesting to note it in no way effects him to carry that name despite the abuse associated with it. He just feels the name "Alois" suits him better and is truly his name. He's not ashamed of his old name. It simply isn't him.

As a consequence of his past and the time spent with the old Earl, he's maladjusted, unstable, and has a penchant for abusing his looks when he can tell someone finds him cute. (To be fair, his stability was questionable the day his parents died. There was something wrong with the child at the beginning, but all the subsequent terrible things just made him worse.)

Alois has a problem with demons. He fell in love with one (Claude Faustus) who killed him, yet he continued to love him after he died even though his soul was stuffed into a ring, fully aware he'd been murdered. He accepted the demon who ate his little brother, Hannah Anafeloz, after being rejected by Claude. She doesn't mind despite Alois having once gouged her eye out.

Regardless of his lack of upbringing, he's an optimistic person -- which is strange, considering he doesn't tend to play well with others. His good cheer isn't fake. The problem is it can be replaced by malice when the wind changes direction. While typically fairly well-spoken, he often degenerates into vulgar speech patterns.

Make note: he's as honest as he is a liar. You can trust him just about as much as you can't.

Non-spoiler notes: He has the perks of being terrified of the dark, being incredibly dependent, and possessing extreme abandonment issues!

re: Alois

Physical: Very healthy; very active. His only notable physical defect is a deep scar on his stomach from where he was once stabbed.

Physical Fights: While likely capable of holding his own with other boys his size and/or age, he isn't the strongest and can be easily overpowered. He'll cry, cower, or resort to cheap tricks to get out of a situation he can't win. (And possibly stab you in the back if you turn your back?)

To Those Who Read Minds: Imagine a car crash. Imagine the paramedics arrive to help but suddenly a huge semi crashes into the scene, spilling gasoline everywhere. Someone else does a drive-by and carelessly flicks a lit cigarette and the whole thing goes up in flames. That's all right though: there's an airplane overhead that sprays water to put the fire out -- only the engine fails before it can accomplish any of that and the plane crashes into the wreck, adding fuel to the fire. The city in which it happens is overall inconvenienced and annoyed, but their worries are soon eased into nonexistence when they're hit by a very large radioactive meteorite and everything within a fifty-mile radius is wiped out. The survivors who were paranoid enough to have lived in their bomb shelters since the time they were old enough to believe conspiracy theories have strange defects from the radiation, but otherwise live what they consider to be normal lives. (The problem is how many people would find it normal?)

In short: he's a mess. Any mind-reader trying to pull something useful out of him is bound to be smacked with a lot of terrible and horrific albeit irrelevant mental images. Feel free to ask me for more details.

To those sensitive in matters of soul: it may feel like the insides of a child's rattle, erratically shaking around inside him. Intensity varies. Sometimes there's no trace of it at all.

You may: do just about anything to him. Kill him or kiss him if it suits you. Horribly maim him if you don't touch his cute face. Eat his soul like a demon. Really. I don't care. I have no personal affection for this little monster. Violence and/or messed up stuff is perfectly fine.

re: Others:

Please let me know if you have any aversions to your character:

a) inevitably being touched
          b) being made fun of
          c) potentially being physically attacked without provocation
          d) being hit on by a fifteen year old boy when your character is also male (despite being a kid, he doesn't seem to swing for the ladies)
          e) getting asked really awkward questions
          f) having suggestive commentary at them
          g) having their name listed in an entry even if he's never interacted with them (it may or may not happen)

Alois has no concept of boundaries or personal space. Consider him like you would a highly immature fifteen-year-old girl who would write about you in her diary.
