From a post about games you've never finished, but wish you had:

Ape Escape - I went through a period of playing great games, getting to the last level and not wanting them to end. This was one of them. I had loads of lives, but one jump on the last level got on my nerves. I knew I could beat it if I perservered, but then the game would be over and I didn't want that. So I gave up on it.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Got to the final boss on this one before giving up.

Myth - The Spectrum game, not the PC RTS. I didn't have the patience to learn all the traps in the Egypt level, so I couldn't get to the final boss. I eventually beat this one on an emulator a year ago, but it's not the same.

Rez - Completed, but with the bad ending.

Shenmue 2 - I didn't get anywhere near finishing this one. I adored the first game and loved what I played of the second, but for no apparent reason I just haven't ploughed the hours into it. Everyone once and a while I kick myself for not completing it, go back and spend another couple hours on it, and then get distracted by something else.

Beyond Good and Evil - I got near the end, and gave up, because I'm rubbish.

Psychonauts - MEAT. FLIPPING. CIRCUS.

System Shock 2 - I'm ashamed at this one. I got to other spaceship, past the docks, avoiding the robots with little health or ammunition, and then I waste some item (a rocket launcher, I think) I need to get through the next part. I never went back to it. I'm one of about three people who bought the game on full price at release, I'm always harping on about how amazing it is, and I've never beaten it. At least with Planescape: Torment a bug prevented me from moving on.

Half-Life - The one that plagues me the most. I got to some galloping boss that threw little black headcrabs at me. After a long fight I beat him, chased him back to his lair, and then I couldn't do anything else. I tried following him down the hole and everything, but I couldn't get any further. From watching videos of the battle I'm pretty sure I hit a bug at that time, and all my saved games were from the battle, I'd have had to started the game right from the beginning. As a result I never completed it.

Oh, and every RPG I can think of, action or otherwise. The only ones I've ever beaten are The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening and some Megadrive/Snes affair where you had two different animals that gave you special powers.

Recently I went back and beat Klonoa 2 (I got up to the desert snowboarding level) and the first Klonoa to 100%, so there's hope for all of these games.
