I tried to order a desk from IKEA.com today.
The shipping was twice as much as the item since I live in an area of the world that does not have an IKEA. This may or may not be a bad thing. While I love the style and price of the Swedish goods, having one within driving distance could possibly give me yet another way to spend my hard earned cash.
I am quite sad that the $130 desk I wanted for my currently empty office space turned into an almost $400 purchase as a result of shipping costs. It would almost be cheaper to just drive to Chicago and pick it up myself. I mean, I have always wanted to see Chicago....
